The predicted wind, rain, and lightning held off long enough Saturday for the 10 sign-waving, anti-Elon Musk protesters to gather on the sidewalk in front of the Tesla service center in east Louisville. An additional 10 hiked the two blocks up the hill to the busier Blankenbaker Parkway where cars beeped their horns seemingly in response to the posters and chants to “honk if you hate nazis.”
The groups were the second in what’s planned to be a weekly presence to object to the Tesla CEO’s radical teardown of the federal government.
A next protest is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, and the next Saturday, and, says local organizer Joel Hunt, “as long as it takes.”

The “Tesla Takedown” is an international action that started last month to, according to its website, “stop Musk’s illegal coup.” An organizer said nearly 100 Tesla Takedown protests had been planned worldwide for this weekend.
