State Representative Colonel Pam Stevenson files intent to run for AG

State Rep. Pam Stevenson, a former colonel in the U.S. Air Force, has filed to run for Kentucky Attorney General.

The following is a press release from the Stevenson campaign.

State Representative Colonel Pam Stevenson has officially filed her paperwork to begin running for Attorney General. Colonel Stevenson represents the 43rd State House District in Louisville and was first elected to the General Assembly in 2020. She recently won a second term this year, running unopposed in the general election.

“The Attorney General is the ‘People’s Lawyer.’ The people of Kentucky need their lawyer to be focused on fighting for them, not the special interests,” said Stevenson. “I’m looking forward to traveling the Commonwealth and having conversations with Kentuckians about what matters to them. We will also discuss ending the opioid epidemic, stopping the price gouging at the pump, and making sure that extreme laws from Frankfort don’t take away our freedoms.”

Born and raised in Kentucky, Colonel Stevenson is Kentucky’s daughter. Her practice of law at the federal level included being a chief prosecutor, criminal defense attorney, international community builder, litigator, an operations law expert supporting aircrews with over 1,000 sorties over Iraq, and working with congressional delegations and the 9-11 commission. She also is a non-profit leader and a Baptist minister.

After retiring from the Air Force, Colonel Stevenson returned home to serve her home state. Having worked in 11 countries to ensure that military families were taken care of, Colonel Stevenson brings a fresh and global perspective to the issues facing Kentucky’s families.

“My life’s work has been service to others: as a mother I have raised a family; as a minister I have empowered congregations; as a Colonel in the United States Air Force I fought for our country globally, including in the Middle East, Croatia, Africa, Europe, and many other places. Now, as a state representative, I work to ensure that our laws give every Kentuckian a fair shot at the American Dream,” Stevenson said.

Stevenson will make a formal announcement in the coming weeks.
